Medical Program

Launched in response to the lack of communication between free clinics in Haiti, the Medical Program connects excess from one clinic to needs at another. Many groups arrive in disaster zones with very specific projects; launching field hospitals for example. Running emergency hospital facilities requires so much energy that excess medications can go un-used. We re-allocate these unused medical supplies and get them to doctors in clinics throughout Haiti.

Medical Supply Storage

The GRU Medical Program has provided $200,000 worth of medical supplies to mobile clinics and emergency response teams. Deployed 14 emergency medical response teams. Set up and supplied a cholera treatment center in the affected Artibonite region with 24 hours of the outbreak. Procured, distributed, or reallocated $1.5 million worth of unused medical supplies. Were key players in the movement of 12 people airlifted or relocated for medical reasons. Provide supplies to over 40 clinics and hospitals. Air transferred $40,000 worth of medical supplies in country. Provided 5,400 LifeStraws to tent camps. GrassRoots United also has a 1200 ft medical warehouse and redistribution facility including cold chain storage ability.
